Homecoming makes its annual return, starting with an assembly and ending with a “night in Paris” themed dance.

SCA hosted a schoolwide Homecoming assembly, consisting of a teacher tug-of-war battle, club vs. club mat surfing, a sing-along and an introduction of the Homecoming court. As the assembly wrapped up, the entire study body chanted together in honor of the  “I am Somebody” tradition, led by former Olympian and current Ocean Lakes P.E teacher Yolanda Boothe.

“Being on Homecoming court was super exciting, I enjoyed the games we played at the assembly and walking out on the field at half-time,” said Homecoming Court winner Savannah Viar.

The night before the dance, Dolphins hosted Green Run High School for the Homecoming football game. Students who attended believed the higher attendance contributed to the spirited atmosphere.

“Since there were more people, it was more spirited than other games,” said freshman Homecoming court winner, Abby Keefe.

Decorations filled the halls weeks prior to the dance. The dance attracted many students that came with their friends and partners. Dance tickets sold out just days before the dance.

“When I saw the fun decor in the hallway and saw all my friends were going, I knew I had to go,” said junior Mason Howlin.
