Fall Fest is an annual tradition presented by the clubs of Ocean Lakes with a new trunk or treat spin. Students and community members joined together on Oct. 27 after school with games, decor, and candy.
For many years Fall Fest hosts the community for an afternoon of family fun. Clubs create games and activities for candy while showing what their club has to offer.
The target of the event is to spread club awareness and information of their organizations with decorated cars and tables filled with events related to their clubs.
Senior Alen Abhilash is the head of this production as Official SCA Representative and Community Outreach Officer. He and his associates Rishika Aditya, Colt Walker and sponsor Jennifer Leary are the masterminds behind Fall Fest and its new format. They are encouraging more community outreach and club advertisement with the festival.
“We have 33 clubs signed up,” Alen said. “They will host their own games and give candy out to people.”
The idea of a trunk or treat arrangement is credited to Leary and supported by the other members. The main objective was to have a fun and recognizable format that would entice more people to come and have fun.
“I just wanted to make it more accessible to the community,” Leary said.
Many clubs attend to give back to the community and to help inform community members of their organizations and how they work with Ocean Lakes.
“We thought it would be fun,” said Dominik Drake of the Anime and Manga Club said.
