Chorus students traveled to Florida after they were selected to participate at a special event at Disney World called “Candlelight.”  The chorus performed at Disney World along with celebrity guest, Whoopi Goldberg.

“I was having so much fun singing at the park, and being so close to a celebrity made me starstruck,” said sophomore El Stansberry.

The students performed Friday and stayed at the park Thursday and Saturday. They sang songs, including Silent Night, Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy, Il Est Ne, and other holiday-themed songs. Chorus teacher William Boardman says that he wishes more students could afford to go on this trip.

“It is a good experience for the chorus. It requires chorus students to prepare a lot of music, memorize, they get to perform with a professional orchestra onstage, and a celebrity guest narrator; it’s fun,” said Boardman.
