Winter bondfire brings students together

After a successful founders week, SCA hosted the annual winter bondfire.

Originally scheduled for Jan. 19, 2024, the event was postponed due to weather conditions.

“[The] Bondfire was supposed to be paired with Bingo and Winter Carnival as a fundraiser to support Dolphin Dash and Beans Way,” said SCA advisor Wendy Tate.

According to Tate, they broke even.

On March 1, 2024, the bondfire was held near the tennis courts from 4:30-6 p.m..

Throughout the night, students got the opportunity to socialize in a non-academic setting.

This included enjoying games, music, and hot chocolate.

“I feel like the bondfire provides such a welcoming atmosphere for all OL students, which is why it’s so beloved by the school,” said senior Chloe Minnis.

She is the SCA Secretary, FBLA President, Latin Honor Society Editor, Founder of the Cultural Appreciation Club and a year-round athlete on the cross country and track team. Outside of school, she enjoys baking, graphic design, volunteering and spending time in nature. In the future, she hopes to become an entrepreneur.
