One hoop after another, the girls basketball team dribbles, shoots and scores during the last regular season home game.
Lady Dolphins played their final home game against the Frank W. Cox High School Falcons on Feb. 10, 2026. The girls fell short, losing by a score of 57-47.
Although they didn’t get the win they wanted, the stands were packed with friends, family and loved ones for all three seniors recognized: Erin Broderick, Jasmyn Miller and Tacari Johnson.
“Senior night will always stick with me. The way I played, the way I felt, and the environment. It was the best game I’ve played in my entire career,” Johnson said.
Before the girls’ game started, the three seniors were recognized as they stepped foot onto the home court for the last time. As the seniors’ names were called, they walked across the court alongside family and friends as the announcer highlighted their favorite team moment and colleges they plan to attend.
“I think this year’s seniors brought a sense of security to the team. I feel like they set a good example for the younger players and showed what it means to stay dedicated to the team,” Team Manager Kailynn Bailey said.
During her high school career, Miller surpassed the 1000-point mark. She wrapped up her high school career by ranking 18th in Virginia, second in Division 5 and first in the Beach District according to MaxPreps.com.
“I feel good, I have accomplished what I believed I could and more in high school, so I’m leaving knowing I’ve put it all out on the court,” Miller said.
With a current record of 7-14, the girls will try to build momentum and finish the season strong to leave behind a stepping stone.
The team will have their next away game at Kempsville High School on Feb. 13.
